GOLF

When the Englishmen left Mauritius in 1968, they left behind their perfect lawns, golf clubs and left driving as well as their Anglo-Saxon sense of business and close trade relations with Europe, India and South Africa. Mauritius is one of the most popular exotic golf destinations in which you will find many other opportunities for sport and relaxation as well. This is a brief characteristic of golf courses but believe us that a personal experience will surpass all your expectations.

Mont Choisy Le Golf

Set in the breath-taking northern region of Mauritius, Mont Choisy Le Golf is one of the island’s most popular golf courses, famous for its various national and international golf competitions. Besides being the North’s one and only 18-hole championship course, it also features unique Mauritian landscaping and black volcanic rock outcrops. Ponds and other waterpoints add character to the course, while natural sand hazards blend seamlessly with the grassy surroundings. The palm trees and large banyan trees around the clubhouse keep a watchful eye on the various events taking place on the neighbouring greens..

Belle Mare Plage Course

The Legend is the first course of its kind in Mauritius. The resort was built along one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Each of the eighteen holes possesses different characteristics. Perfectly maintained fairways are located in the middle of the forest and brand new greens have been built to meet all USPGA specifications. The course was built in a way of respecting and preserving the original environment.

The Links Golf is the second 18 in the Belle Mare Plage resort. The course was opened in November 2002. The 18-hole links course with PAR 71 and a length of 5942 meters was built after a huge success of the first eighteen.

Golf du Chateau

The course with PAR 72 covers a total area of 205 acres, has wide and slightly undulating fairways that pass through a sugar cane plantation. The course is technically demanding enough to satisfy the needs of players with low handicap, but it is also playable for recreational golfers. There are five different tees to choose from, and a number of cleverly placed obstacles require a strategic game. Players can be surprised by two rivers that pass through fairways in unexpected places. The air is filled with the fragrance of flowers and the perfect enjoyment of the game is enhanced by the contrast created by azure blue water and lava soil.

There are nine lakes on the course and three holes with inevitable drive over the water. Tamarina Golf Estate

The course has a PAR of 72 and extends over 43 hectares of the original savannah that the Rempart River passes. The course is quite demanding, also thanks to the tall trees that line the fairways. All holes have been designed to give golfers views of Mount Rempart and Tamarin Bay. Golfers will appreciate the contrast between the harsh surrounding nature and the softness of the course.
